• Special tool for holding and fixing the centrifuge and balance shaft in the TDC position. This tool is essential for holding and aligning the inner guide rail of the first bank, the oil centrifuge, or the balance shaft on the OM629 engine generation.
• NOTE: Removing the balance shaft requires removing the transmission, as it must be removed from the rear. To remove the lower bolt, rotate the vibration damper so that the recess is positioned over the lower bolt.Caution: The central bolt of the centrifuge/balance shaft has a left-hand thread.
• Potentially required tightening torques:
  • (Reference OM629.910 installed in W211 E420CDI)
  • Centrifuge bolt on balance shaft: 25 Nm + 90 degrees
  • Centrifuge cover bolt on crankcase: 9 Nm
